President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih says many before were made to suffer injustices without a legal conviction.

Speaking at Raa Atoll Meedhoo while on a campaign tour to the island, MDP's Presidential Candidate President Solih said that justice must always be served and that it should always prevail. He said that making sure justice is served remains the cornerstone of every MDP government and that its future policies would also be structured to make sure that justice is served objectively.

Noting that in the last five years, the judicial system has been able to regain the people's trust, President Solih said there are no doubts about the objectivity of the Supreme Court now.

He explained that now the most important task was to expedite judicial proceedings and find ways to speed up important trials that have dragged on.

President Solih said that for this, they need more resources and more professional judges.

Touching on the needs of the people of Meedhoo, President Solih said that there are two things that they need and they were a new hospital and expanding the existing habour

He said that expanding the harbor was a previous pledge and that work on the project would begin soon. President Solih said that the new hospital has been awarded to a contractor and that work would begin soon enough.
