President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih claims the country has seen the most work done in the last five years and it is the most compared to any five years under any previous administrations.

The President made the bold claim in a speech in Raa Atoll Fainu as he visited the island on a campaign tour as the September Presidential Election loomed closer.

President Solih said islands like Fainu had been neglected under previous administrations and that his administration had to provide essential services.

The President said that as his five-year term draws to a close, he is content that his administration had been able to provide services that the people need and these islands have now only become places where people live and thrive.

MDP's Presidential Candidate President Solih noted that if he wins a second term, he would provide financial assistance to complete other projects that are required in the island communities and that his administration would provide loans to farmers and those who want to develop island-based tourism.

The President said that in the last five years, the country has seen the most work completed compared to any other five years in the country's history and that because of the COVID-19 pandemic, his administration did not truly have five years.

President Solih said that he had not doubt that he would be able to fulfill his pledges in the next five years and that his political opponents could not make any pledges that he could not fulfill.

In his pledges to the island of Fainu, the President said that if elected again he would develop a modern ring road around the island for easy traveling as well as a boat yard, football stadium, and a tennis court. He also said that he would develop a swimming track on the island and upgrade the island's electric grid by setting up additional generators sets on the island.
