The President says, he is still confident that he will get 75 percent of the vote in B. Dhonafanu like he received in last presidential election.

Presidential campaign for next month's presidential election is now underway in Maldives. Speaking at a gathering held in Dhonfanu, President Ibarahim Mohamed Solih said he had earlier visited Dhonfanu and there were many more concerns than of now. Expressing the success of many projects completed he stated that, people of the island were expressing of having lack of water supply, erosion and lack of electricity back than.

The President said that even when the last two governments changed, the basic needs for Dhonfanu were not fulfilled. But in his goverment, the port has been well built and now needs minor changes to counter effects on changing the weather.

Noting that the water and sewerage works in Dhonfanu are now underway, President Solih said the people of Dhonfanu are confident that he will fulfill his promises.

The President said that the people of Dhonfanu need more land and housing and he pleges to increase land and build flats or row houses in the next term. He also said, additional classroom and multipurpose hall will be built and will look into the port rivetment and other issues that need to be addressed.

The President said he would expedite the Dhonfanu football stadium and build a youth community center and a volleyball court. The President also promised to build a park for the children of Dhonfanu.
