MPD's Presidential Canidate President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih says it is clear from the interactions he has had on his campaign trips that most people want a peaceful and happy country.

He said this while speaking at a rally in Gaafu Alifu on a campaign trip to the Southern Atoll.

Noting the warm welcome he received from the island, President Solih said that back in 2018 the support from Dhaandhoo has always been clear and that he won more than 60 percent of the votes from the island.

He said that the support has grown now and that he can see the success of the support.

President Solih said that his administration has received encouragement from all the islands across the country because of what has been achieved in the last five years.

Noting that this administration dredged 25 hectares of land in Dhaandhoo, President Solih pledged that if he is elected for a second term, his administration will build row houses or flats on the reclaimed land.

Highlighting that the residents of Dhaandhoo want to expand health services on the island, the MDP's Presidential Candidate said that in his next term, he would upgrade the island's Health Center to a 30-bed state-of-the-art hospital.

The President also pledged to pave the wider roads of the island and build a athletics stadium on the island. He added that the government would talk with the Bank of Maldives to extend its banking services on the island too.
