MTCC has said that no customer information will be stored in its systems that could be used to take advantage of any customer's bank card details.
The company said in a statement that since the launch of the RTL service, it has always taken into account the suggestions and information received from various parties to further strengthen and improve the service.
Thus, upon receiving a report of a security vulnerability in the RTL app in early July, the company investigated the issue further and took the necessary security measures to fix the issue immediately. And, the company is also working to further strengthen system security
Sharing information on the security measures taken by MTCC, the statement said that customers' banking information is not stored except to the extent and standard required to make a secure payment. The RTL system will be used in accordance with the security standards of the partner bank. The digital devices used for card transactions in the RTL system are also certified to international payment card industry standards.
The company also said that it is using the Bank of Maldives' payment gateway to accept payments and will share all its customers' banking information on BML's Sequoia platform. Therefore, MTCC has assured that no banking information used by customers to pay using the RTL app will be stored in the company's system.
