Islamic Ministry confirms the death of another Maldivian pilgrim who was in Saudi Arabia for the annual Hajj Pilgrimage this year.
The Maldivian Hajj mission identified the deceased as 81-year-old Ali Gasim from Haa Alifu Kelaa and that he died earlier this morning.
The mission added that the deceased went on the pilgrimage with Maldives Hajj Corporation.
Late Ali Gasim is the 4th Maldivian pilgrim to die at the Hajj this year.
Islamic Ministry confirmed earlier that 70-year-old Gasim Ibrahim, 72-year-old Ali Hassan, and 72-year-old Mohamed Naseem Ali died while on the Hajj pilgrimage.
Meanwhile, Police said today that they would increase police presence near the Velaana International Airport in coming days as pilgrims are expected to return in a few days.
Police said that pilgrims are expected to return tomorrow as well on the 10th and 14th of this month and that their flights are expected to land around 1:50 pm each day.
They said that Police would increase their presence near the airport to ease traffic congestions during this time.
