A private company has filed a complaint against the Elections Commission EC at the Anti-Corruption Commission ACC stating that the EC is making illegal payments to Novelty Printers, one of the oldest and the largest firm providing printing and publishing services in the country.
The complaint against the EC came from the local company named Aria Investments which accused that the Commission made illegal payments to Novelty printers every year which amounts to millions.
In its complaint, the company said that if the Commission gave the same payments it made to Novelty printers to the firm's competitors, they too can further develop their business and fairly compete with Novelty Printers.
Aria Investments accused the EC made illegal payments to Novelty Printers annually and that it is highly concerning that the matter has not been properly investigated though complaints have been made about the issue before.
The news outlet was unable to reach the EC, ACC, or Aria Investment for further comments.
According to its website, Novelty Printers & Publishers Pvt. Ltd. was founded in 1965 by Ali Hussain as a home business using a hand-operated cyclostyling machine for printing, shaving razor blades for cutting paper, and a sewing machine for perforation.
From manual stencil to letterpress to offset printing, the company today is the nation's largest and leading provider of printing, publishing, and related services.
