Police arrest a suspect in connection to the stabbing in Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo yesterday afternoon.
The stabbing was reported to the police on Sunday around 1:50 in the afternoon and Police said that the victim of the stabbing is a 25-year-old man.
It has been reported that the victim continues to seek treatment at Thinadhoo Abdul Samad hospital.
Speaking to the Press today, Police said that they have made an arrest in connection to the stabbing last night.
Police revealed that the suspect was apprehended under an arrest warrant and identified the suspect as a 30-year-old individual.
But the Police did not clarify why the victim was stabbed but said that they would continue to investigate the case.
While stabbings are common in the Maldives, most of these crimes are related to gang violence.
