The Court in Alifu Alifu Ukulhas has ordered a safari anchored in the island's lagoon be removed within 24 hours after allegations surfaced that the vessel has been selling alcohol on the island.

Residents of Ukulhas recently staged a protest on the island accusing the safari vessel of selling alcohol on the island and demanding the island council to intervene.

Last night, the Court issued an order of removal against the Safari and ruled that the order must be implemented within 24 hours. The Court said that only a bad weather alert can delay the removal order implementation.

The Court's deadline expires at 10:00 pm tonight.

The residents of the island, known for its lucrative guest house business, initially filed a complaint against the safari to the Island Council but complained that they were not receiving adequate cooperation from the council on the matter.

Residents of the island protested against the Council and they placed a small motorboat at the entrance of the Council Office.

Police were also dispatched to the island to quell the situation and they implemented a court-issued search warrant on the Safari but came up empty.

Residents said that the Safari crew had hid their alcohol stash from the Police.
