Islamic Ministry says the state has received more than MVR 6.1 million as Fitr Zakat in the first 25 days of this Ramadan.
Data released by the Ministry showed that Fitr Zakat payments in the first 25 days of this Ramadan were more this year compared to the last three years.
The Ministry said that so far this year it has received MVR 6,108.560 as Fitr Zakat payments.
In 2020, this amount was at MVR 5،979،474 while the following year in 2021 this amount decreased to MVR 5،319،664.
Last year, the Ministry recorded MVR 5،943،196 as Fitr Zakat payments in the first 25 days of Ramadan.
The Ministry has now halted accepting Fitr Zakat payments from all other platforms except for the bandeyri pay online platform. It said that the Bandeyri pay platform will accept Zakat payments till the last of Ramadan.
The Ministry has also begun to release zakat through staple foods and would continue to do so till tomorrow at the Salaahudeen hall in Majeedheeya school.
