India criticized Pakistan during its right of reply before the United Nations Human Rights Council, warning Islamabad against spreading falsehoods and attempting to promote communal strife in India.

The declaration comes after Pakistan raised the issue of Jammu and Kashmir during the General Debate under Agenda item 4 at the UNHRC.

India has urged Pakistan to prioritize the safety, security, and well-being of its minority groups over "futile propaganda" aimed at causing communal strife in India. PR Thulasidhass, Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations Human Rights Council, Ministry of External Affairs.

“We call on Pakistan to focus on the safety, security and well-being of its minority communities instead of engaging in futile propaganda and attempting to foment communal disharmony in India,” PR Thulasidhass said.

Thulasidhass stated that Pakistan's representative mentioned Jammu & Kashmir, which was, is, and will always be a part of India. He stated that Jammu and Kashmir, like the rest of India, is heading towards peace and prosperity. PR Thulasidhass stated that the world does not require lessons on democracy and human rights from Pakistan.

“The delegate of Pakistan referred to Jammu and Kashmir, which was, is and shall forever remain an integral part of India. Jammu and Kashmir is marching towards peace and prosperity along with the rest of India. This is despite Pakistan’s repeated attempts to derail the process, through its active and sustained support to terror groups and its malicious disinformation campaign against India. FM of Pakistan has voiced Pakistan’s frustration due to its failure in its malicious propaganda against India,” he said.

According to an Indian diplomat, India's democracy is mature enough to address any challenge, including those provoked from outside. Minorities in Pakistan, he claims, face blasphemy laws, systemic persecution, discrimination, denial of basic rights and freedoms, enforced disappearances, and deaths.
