Housing Minister Mohamed Aslam says he has no knowledge about a list of individuals who would be awarded land plots from the capital Male'.

The Minister said this while speaking at the Parliament today after he was summoned to the legislative chamber upon the request by the MP for Maafannu Uthuru Constituency Imthiyaz Fahmy.

MP Imthiyaz said that some MPs representing the government had said that the government had set aside a list of housing recipients and questioned how the government housing schemes are implemented.

Answering this, Minister Aslam said that there was no such list for the land plots allocated for Male' residents and that he did not know that MPs were circulating such information.

The Minister further said that he had not heard such information and that this was false information.

The Government had announced that it would allocate 5,000 land plots from the Greater Male' area including 1,000 from Hulhumale' second phase and 2,000 from Gulheefalhu.
