Maldives Transport and Contracting Company MTCC says ticket price for the mini bus service in Villimale has been set as MVR 5 per person per ride.
MTCC said that passengers would be charged for rides starting tomorrow and that the bus service would be available for 24 hours in Villimale. This comes after two weeks of free bus ride in Villimale in which MTCC tested two different routes for the electric and environmentally friendly buses.
Like the bus services in Male', MTCC has set three different ways for ticket purchases in Villimale. MTCC said that passengers can buy QR tickets via the RTL App and website and that the bus have scanners for these tickets.
Passengers who have contactless Visa or MasterCard can use their cards to purchase bus tickets from the vehicle itself and MTCC confirmed that the bus it self would sell tickets.
MTCC said that a special box would be kept on the bus to collect money for ticket purchases onboard the bus. MTCC advised passengers to bring exact change for their travels as bus conductors would not be able to give change for bigger notes.
