Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom receives a red carpet welcome from Shavniyani Atoll Milandhoo on his first trip to the islands after a long time.
Maumoon traveled to Milandhoo to attend the award ceremony to be held tonight to celebrate those who have worked in service of the island.
The ex-President's wife Nasreena Ibrahim accompanied him on this trip along with his daughter and Heritage Minister Yumna Maumoon and son and former MP Farish Maumoon.
Maumoon shared pictures of his rapturous welcome on social media and thanked the people of Milandhoo for the warm welcome.
