Former President Abdullah Yameen says if he wins the 2023 Presidential election he will show the nation who the real thieves are.
He said this while speaking at the opposition rally held in Haa Alifu Ihavandhoo last night.
In a clear jab at the current administration, the former President said that one of the reasons he decided to compete in the election was to reveal the real thieves and their crimes to the public.
Yameen said that right now anyone can call another a thief but the real culprits would be uncovered once the cases are investigated.
He noted that the public deserves to know the truth behind such allegations and the biggest thieves are within this administration.
Yameen said that current MPs representing the government majority party MDP took huge payback from the MMPRC scandal.
Touching on the allegations against current President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, Yameen said that once a standing President is accused of corruption, then the best way forward is to resign from his duties.
Yameen said that if the opposition wins next year's election, it would reveal who has used the Public's money and who has been involved in corruption.
He added that this was a pledge he really wanted to fulfill.
