Maldives Meteorological Services the Met Office has issued a while alert for the whole country as bad weather continues to persist in the Maldives.
Met Office said between 11:30 am to 05:30 pm heavy rain was expected across the country.
It said that strong winds of 19-24 miles per hour with gusts of 45 miles per hour were also predicted for the whole country.
The Met Office added that rough seas were expected as well as swell surges during the alert period.
The white alert for the whole country was issued after a yellow alert to major parts of the country expired.
It had issued a yellow alert from Shaviyani Atoll to Dhaalu Atoll with torrential rain and thunderstorms predicted.
Maldives National Defence Force MNDF has cautioned seafarers because of the bad weather and advised them to take all precautionary measures before traveling.
