President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has departed for Singapore today on an unofficial trip.

This was confirmed by the President's Office. But it did not give details about his trip or his return trip.

President Solih has traveled to Singapore several times over the last few months. He went to the island nation for a thyroid operation last February and was joined by First Lady Fazna Ahmed.

The First Couple also traveled to Singapore this April on an unofficial trip.

But the first Lady Fazna did not depart to Singapore with the President today as she traveled to Fuvamulah for a prior engagement.

Meanwhile, Speaker of the Parliament Mohamed Nasheed is scheduled to depart to the US later today to attend the 9th Meeting of Finance Ministers of Climate Vulnerable 20 Countries to be held during the Annual meeting of IMF and World Bank in Washington D.C.

The parliament confirmed that the Speaker would be in the US between the 12th to 16th of this month.
