The government has launched new water supply services in Haa Dhaalu Navaidhoo.
In a ceremony held on the island today, the water supply service was inaugurated by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
Under this project, the government created a 4.5 Km water system network and also set up two ROR plants that can produce 40 tons of water per day.
The project also established two water tanks capable of storing 185 tons of water along with a 150 ton tank to collect rainwater.
The water supply service has now been made available to 174 houses on the island.
The development of the water supply project was awarded Saasee Construction Private ltd and the project is worth MVR 15.3 million.
Planning Ministry had initially awarded the project contract to the company back in September of 2019 and the company had begun construction work in October of that year.
The project was completed in June of this year.
