CEO of Maldives Ports Limited MPL Shahid Ali says the company would grant eases in paying for the flats it is building for the company's employees.
CEO Shahid made these remarks while addressing the ceremony held last night to mark the 36th Anniversary of MPL.
He said that under the previous conditions, recipients of the MPL flats had to make the payments in full but the changed conditions would now allow them to make payments in installments over a period of 20 years.
Shahid said that this change was brought about by this administration and that the previous administration wanted recipients to make the full payment or make the payment via a bank loan.
He further said that MPL has now compiled a special financial scheme to make flat payments.
The CEO also said that the company had lowered the maintenance fee of the flats and included the booking fee as part of the flat down payment.
Shahid announced that the flats would be finished by early next year.
MPL is constructing 3 towers of flats with 534 housing units. Out of these, 204 flats and one-room apartments while the rest of the 330 are two-room flats.
