A local man has been arrested for physically harming a child.
Speaking about the case to 'The Press', a Police official said that on an island located in a central Atoll, a man was ordered to be removed from a house after a woman living in the house had filed a domestic abuse complaint.
Police said that the court had issued an order of protection for the woman but the man had refused to obey the order.
The official further said that Police responded to a call about the man harming a child living in the same house around 2:00 am in the morning and that the man was subsequently arrested.
The Police official also said that the man had attacked Police officers on the scene while he was being arrested.
The suspect had been identified as a 37-year-old local man.
Police are further investigating the case.
