One of the first local surgeons Dr. Abdullah Waheed passes away earlier today.
Dr. Waheed passed away this morning while under treatment for Pneumonia at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital. He was 65 years of age.
The doctor has fulfilled several noteworthy posts in government including the State Minister of Health Ministry and also acted as the President of the Police Integrity Commission.
Dr. Waheed also headed IGMH for a short period of time.
But lately, he had stepped away from his responsibilities after suffering a stroke.
He had stopped consulting after suffering the stroke and proceeded to do research and write a blog.
Dr. Abdullah Waheed left behind a wife and two sons.
