Health Protection Agency HPA reports that the number of new cases of COVID-19 recorded across the country decreased by 211 last week compared to the week before.
HPA data showed that between 24th July to 30th July, 183 new cases of COVID-19 were reported. It said that this includes 33 cases from the Greater Male' Area, 85 cases from inhabited islands, and 65 cases from other areas including operational resorts and industrial islands.
The Agency reported that between 17th July to 23rd July, 394 new cases were recorded across the country including 69 in the Greater Male' Area and 236 in the inhabited islands.
While HPA had recorded 28 new hospital admissions the week before last, it had only reported 14 new hospital admissions last week.
The Agency reported no COVID-related deaths in the last two weeks.
A total of 184,485 cases of COVID-19 had been reported in the country since March 2020 while 307 individuals had succumbed to the illness in the Maldives since April 2020.
