President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has visited the Holy City of Medinah during his unofficial trip to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The President's Office said that on the President's trip to Medinah, he visited Masjid An Nabwi, Islam's second holiest site.

On his visit to the Mosque, President Solih was accompanied by the Assistant General President for the Affairs of the Prophet's Mosque, Dr. Muhammad Al-Khudairi.

The Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed and the President's Chief of Staff Ali Zahir also accompanied the President on the visit to Medinah.

The President is in Saudi Arabia to perform the rites of Hajj. He along with his wife Fazna Ahmed departed for the Hajj pilgrimage yesterday.

The President and first couple would join around 453 Maldivians on the Hajj pilgrimage this year with the last batch of pilgrims departing last night.

Hajj Corporation had said that all the Maldivian pilgrims who had arrived in Saudi Arabia had settled at their designated hotels and that they are all doing well.
