Health Protection Agency HPA has reported more than 1,100 new cases of COVID-19 in the last week of June.
HPA said that between 26th June and 2nd July, 1,134 new cases of COVID-19 were reported nationwide. The Agency said that this includes 391 new cases from the Greater Male' Area, 297 from the islands, and 446 new cases confirmed from other areas including operational resorts and industrial islands.
The new cases take the total number of COVID-19 reported since March 2020 to a staggering 182,720.
HPA noted that one person had died from the illness in the country last week and that this takes the total pandemic death toll to 306.
Meanwhile, the Health Protection Agency HPA said that 54 new hospital admissions were reported at the end of June. At the beginning of June, the number of hospital admissions was 8.
The Agency confirmed that the national positivity rate is currently at 28 percent while the positivity rate at the beginning of the month was at 4 percent.
