Education Minister Dr. Aishath Ali says once the schools being built in Hulhumale' are completed, the administration plans to change four schools in Male' to one-session schools.

She made the comments while speaking at the parliament today after the Minister was summoned to answer questions by MP for Medhu Henveiru Constituency Ali Azim.

Minister Aishath said that the most difficult obstacle in changing the schools in Male' to one-session schools is space constraints.

She noted that this would be solved once the schools being constructed by the government in Hulhumale' are completed and opened. She added that these schools would also be one-sessions schools and once they are open four schools in Male' would be changed to one-session schools as well.

These four schools include Majeedhiyaa School, Iskandar School, Ameeniyya school, and Center for Higher Secondary Education CHSE.

Minister Aishath said although the Ministry had planned to change schools in Male' to one-session schools, it is difficult to say when the budget for it would be approved and when it can be implemented.

One-session schools are fewer in the Greater Male' area than in the atolls.

Changing schools to one-session schools is a presidential pledge of the current government.
