Health Protection Agency HPA says the number of Dengue cases reported in April has increased compared to March of this year.

HPA said that 92 cases of Dengue fever were reported in April and that this is 66 more cases than what was reported in March.

The Agency said that 26 cases of Dengue fever were reported in March 2022.

HPA said that the number of cases of Dengue reported from the Greater Male' Area and the Atolls has increased over the last few weeks and advised that all must take precautionary measures to avoid the disease.

The Agency also reported that even though the number of Dengue cases increased in April, the number of common cold cases as well as diarrhea and vomiting cases decreased last month compared to March.

HPA said while 14,399 people sought treatment for the common cold in March, 12,978 people had sought treatment for the disease in April 2022.

Meanwhile, HPA had recorded 2,063 cases of vomiting and diarrhea in March while it had reported 1,575 such cases in the last month.
