MP of Medhu Henvairu Constituency and former President of the Football Association of the Maldives Ali Azim has accused authorities of remaining silent while clubs are carrying out unlawful actions.
He said this after it was revealed that Valencia Football Club had opted not to travel for their AFC Cup match which then prompted concern from the FAM.
Azim said that no club or association is above the law and that action must be taken against them if they fail to abide by it.
He further accused FAM of being unlawful yesterday and pointed out that today the clubs have followed suit and are involved in illegal measures.
MP Azim said that while such things are happening law enforcement parties in the country are in a great slumber.
Azim also questioned FAM statements which said that it had issued funds to Valencia FC ahead of its AFC match and sought clarification on how funds were released to the club on previous occasions.
