Minister of National Planning, Housing & Infrastructure Mohamed Aslam says all the islands in the country need not have paved roads.

He made the comments while answering questions at the Parliament today about the issues with the Kolamaafushi Road Development Project and was summoned to the floor on a request from MP for Villigilli Constituency Saud Hussain.

Minister Aslam said while habor development had been a trend in the past, the demand for paved roads on each island has risen now.

He said that the mindset to develop paved roads on each island is not smart.
