Speaker of the Parliament and leader of the ruling MPD Mohamed Nasheed says only MPD can bring the beneficial and developmental changes needed to better the people's lives and that the party needs two more terms in government to make this happen.
Nasheed said that while speaking at the campaign rally held for MDP's candidate competing in the upcoming Komandoo byelection. The rally was held at Shaviyani Fokaidhoo.
Nasheed said that it is wrong to think that development can be brought just by erecting infrastructure and said that true development meant that the public can live their lives without any difficulties.
The Speaker said that MDP was founded and is still running to remove hardships from people's lives and that the public wanted a party that identifies such hardships and gives solutions for them.
Nasheed noted that MDP is yet to achieve its political milestone and to achieve that the party needs to remain in power for the next 10 years.
He called on the citizens of Foakaidhoo to vote for the MDP candidate in the byelection tabled for February.
