Male' City Council has teamed up with Maldives Police Services to clean all the graffiti-covered walls of the Male'.
This was confirmed by Male' City Mayor Dr. Mohamed Muizzu in a tweet.
He tweeted sharing pictures of Male' City Council expatriate workers painting over graffiti-covered walls in Male' while Police officers and MNDF soldiers monitored the work.
The Police have recently initiated a joint security operation in the capital city with MNDF.
In a joint statement, security services said that it had begun an operation to ensure the safety and security of the public as well as to maintain peace and order in the capital Male'.
They said that they started the operation yesterday and that the operation had been named 'Gulhigenn' operation.
The security services thanked the public for their cooperation during such security operations conducted to safeguard the country.
The announcement of the security operation comes amid social media speculation that the security services were combating a potential terrorist attack.
