Health Protection Agency HPA has reported more than 95,000 cases of COVID-19 in the country since the pandemic reached its shores back in 2020.
HPA said that yesterday, 168 new cases were reported across the country after 4,223 samples were tested for the pandemic.
It said out of these 168 new cases, 44 were from the Greater Male' Area and that 73 were from inhabited islands. HPA also reported 50 new cases from operational resorts across the country with 1 new case coming from a safari.
This takes the total number of cases reported in the country to a staggering 95,032.
HPA had said that currently there are 2,079 active cases of the pandemic in the country and that 8 remained hospitalized for further treatment.
The Agency had also said that 92,679 people have now recovered from the illness in the country.
The COVID-19 global pandemic has killed 261 people in the Maldives since April 2020.
HPA had also said that the total number of cases includes 13 deceased positives whose cause of death is not directly due to COVID-19.
