Parents of students of Arabiyya School have confirmed that they are set to meet President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to discuss the issues the school is currently facing.
This comes after the parents sent a letter addressed to the President voicing their concerns about the Education Ministry's decision to transfer the students of the Arab-medium school to Izudhhin school after it was established that the Arabiya school building was in dire need of renovation.
Sources have confirmed that the parents would gather outside the President's Office to request a meeting with him.
Sources have also reported that the parents had met with Vice President Faisal Naseem last night and that the meeting ran till midnight last night.
On Friday, the parents had staged a protest outside the school demanding the Ministry to rethink its decision to transfer the students of the Arab-medium school to another school.
Last week, the Education Ministry had assured that it would designate one of the schools being built in Hulhumale for Arabiyya and that in the meantime it would transfer students to Izudhhin school.
After pictures of cracked concrete pillars, walls, and floors had emerged, parents had questioned how safe the building is for the students.
