Health Protection Agency HPA confirms 79 new cases of COVID-19 in the Maldives on Monday.
HPA said that out of the new cases, 52 cases were confirmed from inhabited islands while 25 new cases were reported from the Greater Male' Area.
HPA also said that 2 new cases were confirmed in the operational resorts in the country.
Yesterday's cases take the total number of COVID cases reported in the Maldives to 91,543.
HPA also said that there are 1,733 active cases of COVID-19 in the country and that currently 12 COVID patients remained hospitalized for further treatment in the country.
The Agency also said that 89,547 people have now recovered from the illness in the Maldives.
The COVID-19 global pandemic has killed 250 people in the Maldives with mostly elderly locals dying from the pandemic in the country since April 2020.
