Health Protection Agency HPA says more than 363,000 people have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and are now fully vaccinated against the pandemic in the Maldives.
HPA said yesterday that a total of 395,586 people in the Maldives have now received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. It also said that out of this, 363,150 people have received the 2nd dose of the COVID vaccine and are now fully vaccinated against the pandemic.
Earlier this month, the government had announced that 86 percent of the vaccine-eligible population in the Maldives has now received the COVID-19 vaccine.
Meanwhile, HPA said yesterday that 9,058 people in the Maldives have now received the booster dose for COVID-19.
Authorities in the Maldives are administering a dose of the Pfizer vaccine as the booster dose.
HPA had said that the booster dose is given to those who meet the eligibility criteria which includes having completed 6 months after receiving the 2nd dose of a COVID-19 vaccine (Covisheild/Astrazeneca, Sinopharm, Pfizer).
HPA announced that from 20th November, all above 50 years are eligible for the booster dose.
The Agency had also said that Walk-in for Pfizer booster dose is now open in ADK and Hulhumale's hospital.
