Health Protection Agency HPA has reported 152 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday.
HPA said that these include 112 new cases confirmed from the inhabited islands in the country while 22 cases were confirmed from the Greater Male' Area.
The Agency also confirmed 17 new cases from operational resorts across the Maldives.
The new cases take the total number of COVID-19 cases reported in the country since March 2020 to 91,274.
HPA had said that currently there are 1,823 active cases of the pandemic in the country. HPA also said that 14 COVID patients remained hospitalized for further treatment.
A total of 89,190 people have now recovered from the illness in the Maldives.
The global pandemic has killed 248 people in the Maldives and authorities had confirmed that most of the individuals who died were elderly locals with underlying health issues.
HPA had also said that the total number of cases include 13 deceased positives who cause of death is not directly related to COVID-19
