Education Minister Dr. Aishath Ali says the changing the physical classrooms to online classes due to the COVID-19 pandemic did not leave any lingering effect on students' education and learning.
The Minister said this while speaking at the parliamentary sitting today.
She said that the country had to face the COVID-19 pandemic just after the current administration came into power and that students had to suffer difficult conditions to continue their education and learning.
The Minister noted that diagnostics tests were conducted to determine the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the students' learning and said that no lasting effects were highlighted in the test results.
Schools across the country closed down in March 2020, and most schools conducted online classes for the better part of the year.
Though schools resumed physical classes, the schools were shut down on and off due to the different bouts of the pandemic.
