ADK Hospital has opened a General OPD inside the hospital due to the recent increase in fever and cold cases.
The hospital noted via Twitter the recent increase in Fever and ARI cases presenting to its ER and General OPD.
It said that in order to cope with the spike in these cases, ADK has started a special dedicated GOPD for Fever Cases at the Health Center Building (inside ADK Hospital).
ADK hospital said that the GOPD would be open from 4 pm to 10 pm every day. It also urged those with symptoms like fever, cough, and cold to visit its Fever GOPD.
This comes after the Health Protection Agency HPA warned of a sudden increase in cold and influenza cases in the Greater Male' Area and cautioned all to take the necessary measures.
HPA had said that last September, there were 3,720 reported cases of common cold and that this was a 60 percent increase compared to August.
Meanwhile, State-run Indira Gandhi memorial hospital has urged its patients not to visit the hospital with fever and cold-like symptoms but instead visit the flu clinic established at FAM building. It had said that the flu clinic would be open between 08:00 am to 10:00 pm in the night.
