Health Protection Agency HPA says more than 302,500 people have been fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 pandemic in the Maldives.
In its latest vaccination update, HPA said that up until the 31st of last month, 384,444 people have received the first dose of the COVID vaccine in the country.
HPA said that out of this, 302,512 people have now received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and are fully vaccinated against the fast-spreading disease.
The Agency has set up 6 vaccination centers and 3 mobile units in the Greater Male' Area while 176 vaccination centers across the Atolls are administering the shots in the country.
Authorities in the Maldives are currently administering three types of COVID vaccines including Sinopharm, AstraZeneca, and Pfizer vaccine.
The government had said that starting this month, those who are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine and have not received them would face certain restrictions.
Authorities had said that these restrictions would be imposed during domestic traveling or when using public transport as well as when using eating establishments.
Also, the Education Ministry had said that only vaccinated parents would be allowed on school grounds starting this month and had urged parents to get their COVID shots as soon as possible.
