President Solih urged those who haven't received their COVID-19 shots to get their vaccines for their families and the community.
Meanwhile, former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom also urged all to get vaccinated against the pandemic as soon as possible.
Maumoon said via Twitter that it is widely accepted that vaccination is the best defense against Covid-19 and urged everyone to get vaccinated as early as possible.
MP for Thimarafushi Abdullah Riyaz said that giving a COVID sample every time for a PCR test cost money and is difficult. He noted that this can only be prevented when as many people are vaccinated against the pandemic and that all should get vaccinated by taking it as a national priority.
