State Trading Organization STO has confirmed that a spike in petrol and diesel prices.
STO said that this change was due to the fluctuations in the global oil market.
The organization had been selling a petrol liter for MVR 8.45 but said that from today onwards it would sell 1 petrol liter for MVR 9.74.
As for diesel, STO had been selling 1 liter of diesel for MVR 9.79 but said that it had decided to hike the price to MVR 10.72.
The Organization had been increasing the price of petrol and diesel on account of the price fluctuations in the global market.
Recently, it had spiked up the prices of both petrol and diesel in March of this year, also citing price changes in the global oil market.
