Maldives Police Officers have lauded two of its officers who had rescued a family from a drowning incident in Indian-controlled Lakshadweep.
Police said in a tweet that Chief Inspector of Police Ahmed Abdul Azeez & Chief Inspector of Police Mohamed Nazim currently undergoing IPS training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) in India had saved a family of 4 from drowning.
Police added that the family of 4 included 2 children and acknowledge the officers' bravery and instantaneous action that saved lives.
Meanwhile, the Indian High Commission here in the Maldives also recognized the life-saving contribution made by the gallant officers.
In a tweet, the High Commission expressed profound gratitude for the officers' action and dubbed it as a "brave and selfless act"
The High Commission also said that it was glad to see the continued strengthening of linkages between the two police institutions from the two countries.
