Health Protection Agency HPA has announced that it would begin administering the second dose of the Sinopharm vaccine tomorrow.
HPA said via Twitter that it would be administering the second dose of the vaccine in the Greater Male' Area alone and that it would be given at two vaccination centers.
The Agency said that the 2nd dose of the Sinopharm vaccine would be administered at;
- Tree Top Hospital 10:00 am to 12:00 pm (for non-fasting individuals) and 08:30 pm to 11:00 pm
- People's Majlis: 09:00 pm to 11:30 pm.
HPA said that the 2nd dose of the Sinopharm vaccine is open for everyone who got their first dose of the vaccine between 22nd March to 23rd March.
Currently, HPA is administering the second dose of the Covishield vaccine alone while individuals can get the 1st dose of the Sinopharm and Pfizer vaccines.
Meanwhile, HPA said today that a total of 281,848 people have now received the first dose of the COVID vaccine in the Maldives. It also said that 45,817 people have now completed their vaccination against the pandemic by receiving both doses of the COVID vaccine.
HPA has confirmed that there are 11 vaccination centers and 4 mobile teams in the Greater Male' Area while authorities have set up 240 vaccination centers in the Atolls.
