Health Protection Agency confirms 58 new cases of COVID-19 in the country today as the number of daily cases continues to fall in the Maldives.
HPA said in its daily update that the new cases include 36 from the Greater Male' Area, 11 from inhabited islands, and 11 from operational resorts.
The Agency said that this has taken the total number of COVID-19 cases reported in the country to 25,759.
HPA also reported that the number of active cases currently in the country had now fallen to 2,702 while the number of recoveries has now reached 22,981.
It confirmed a significant drop in the number of hospitalized COVID patients with currently just 62 admitted in hospitals right now.
The global pandemic has killed 67 individuals in the country and this includes 60 locals and 7 foreigners.
HPA had also reported that the total confirmed cases include 9 deceased positives whose cause of death is not directly due to COVID-19.
