Education Ministry says this year's A'level/AS exams have been moved forward to April.

In a statement, the Ministry said the decision to move these exams forward was made after the international body that organizes the exams Edexcel, made changes to their schedule.

It said with this change the exams previously scheduled for May/June would now start on the 26th of April.

The Ministry said that Edexcel had changed its exam schedule without having any discussions with the Maldivian authorities overseeing the exams.

It had also said that discussions held to revise the change had not been fruitful.

The Education Ministry also said that with the change to these exams, the ministry would now push back the local HSC exams. It added that the local HSC exams would now be held one month after the A'level/AS exams and would be held from 13th June to 17th June 2021.
