A teenager who was injured in an accident in Haa Dhaalu Atoll Kulhudhfushi has succumbed to his injuries earlier today.
Reports have confirmed that a 17-year-old boy had died while under treatment for the injuries he had sustained in the accident that occurred in the Northern island city last Friday.
The accident had occurred when a cycle and pickup had collided with each other and the teenager who had died today had been riding the cycle that crashed in the incident.
Sources have reported that the victim had two operations after the accident and that his condition worsened after he was discharged from the hospital having had the first surgery.
Sources also said that the boy had another surgery and that he had died while fighting for his life in the ICU.
He is the third person to die from injuries sustained in road accidents that have happened this month alone.
Earlier this month, two women had died in accidents that were reported in Addu City and Laamu Atoll link road.
