Health Protection Agency HPA has reported 94 new cases of COVID-19 in the Maldives on Saturday.
In its daily COVID update via Twitter, HPA said that the 94 new cases include 65 from the Greater Male' Area, 14 from inhabited islands, and 15 from operational resorts.
This takes the total number of cases reported in the Maldives to 21,476.
HPA had also said that 18,967 people have now recovered from the pandemic here in the country while 2,438 remained as active cases of COVID-19.
HPA added that 136 COVID-19 patients remained hospitalized for further treatment.
The global pandemic has killed 64 people in the Maldives since last April and this includes 57 locals and 7 foreigners. HPA had confirmed two COVID deaths so far this month while it had reported 10 COVID deaths last month.
Authorities in the Maldives have been tightening the restrictive measures taken against the COVID-19 pandemic here in the country especially the Greater Male' Area.
This includes both a vehicle ban and a curfew currently in place in the Greater Male' Area while cafes and restaurants in the City are only able to serve dine-in customers till 8:00 pm.
