Health Emergency Operations Center HEOC says all the hospitals across the Maldives would begin vaccinating against the COVID-19 pandemic tomorrow.
Speaking to 'The Press' HEOC media official said that health officials have decided to begin the COVID inoculation program at all the hospitals in the country tomorrow and that authorities were now making the necessary preparations.
The Official also said that vaccination would only begin at the hospitals now equipped for the inoculation drive and that it would later reveal which hospital would begin vaccination tomorrow.
Three major cities across the country had begun the COVID vaccination drive yesterday with many health care professionals and state dignitaries including President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih receiving their jabs yesterday.
Speaker of the Parliament Mohamed Nasheed and Chief Justice Muthasim Adan also received their vaccinations as all three branches of the democracy looked to wipe out the hoax talks surrounding the vaccine doses.
The Maldives is using the covishield COVID vaccine after receiving 100,000 doses of covishield vaccine from neighboring India last month.
The Covisheild vaccine (developed by Oxford-AstraZeneca) was manufactured by the Serum Institute of India.
