Authorities in Fuvamulah City have shifted two high-risk COVID-19 patients from the city to the COVID facility on the island.
Fuvamulah Hospital said two COVID-19 patients who are considered high-risk individuals to the illness have been moved to the COVID facility established within the hospital. The hospital said this includes a 70-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman from the City.
The hospital explained that both these individuals tested positive from samples taken upon the completion of the mandatory 10-day quarantine having traveled from the Male' Area.
Both the patients tested positive for COVID-19 last Thursday.
Fuvamulah hospital said that its medical team was coordinating with the clinical advisory team from Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in order to treat these high-risk patients.
With two COVID-19 cases reported from the City, authorities have cautioned inhabitants to take all necessary action in order to avoid the spread of the pandemic in Fuvamulah.
Authorities have instructed inhabitants to refrain from public gatherings and to wear facemasks when in public while maintaining social distancing protocols.
Hospital officials have also advised islanders to seek medical attention if experiencing COVID like symptoms and to adhere to the instructions given by medical officials in order to prevent the further spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the city.
