A road accident in Fuvahmulah City has seriously injured two individuals with one currently on ventilator support.
Police said that the accident occurred in Funaadu Ward of the city last night and police received the report of the incident around 11:30 pm.
It said that the accident happened after two motorcycles traveling near the Shiara Site of the ward crashed into each other. Police said a 23-year-old man and a 49-year-old man were injured in last night's collision and were now receiving treatment at the hospital.
Police added that the 49-year-old was currently ventilator support and the 23-year-old victim was also in serious condition.
It confirmed that the authorities were now working to send the two patients to Male' for further treatment.
Police said that both the cycles involved in the accident were damaged beyond repair.
It added that both the motorists had valid licenses for their vehicles.
