President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has departed for Dubai.
Presidential Spokesperson Ibrahim Hood had confirmed the President's departure to 'The Press' today. He said that the President is making an informal trip to Dubai.
Hood also said that the President departed yesterday morning and is expected to return next Tuesday. He did not share any other information regarding the President's unofficial trip to the Emirati city.
Reports have confirmed that First Lady, Fazna Ahmed joined the President on his trip to Dubai.
This is the first trip abroad for the President in 2021 and is also his first informal trip abroad after the Maldives reopened its borders back in July of last year, after closing its doors in March of 2020 to combat the COVID-19 pandemic
